HERIB was delighted to once again meet up with our friend Tina Whiteley recently (pictured above left).
Tina, who works at the Eye Clinic at Hull Royal Infirmary, has been busy raising funds for the charity by organising a book stall at the clinic and selling books to both patients and her fellow staff aided by fellow nurse Jeannette Hughes who coordinated a series of raffles. Together the pair have raised an amazing £1,000.
Tina began her fundraisng back in 2014 as part of HERIB's 150th anniversary celebrations.
“I decided to sell the books in aid of HERIB because I know the charity receives no government funding so wanted to help it to continue its excellent work by fundraising for it,” say’s Tina.
HERIB’s Fundraising Manager says: “We are so grateful for Tina and Jeanette's’s incredible support and would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has been involved in supporting their fundraising efforts. This money will help us to provide information and emotional support through our experienced staff, resource centre, booklets, support groups and information sessions and so really will make a difference to local people who are blind or partially sighted.”
